Genshin has excellent character guides. Sites like KeqingMains and similar will give you massive details about a character's optimal rotation, which artifact substats matter at which constellation, optimals teams and so on. Youtube content creates can give you guides on frame perfect combo's for characters like Mavuika and Nefer.

But ... that is a lot to read and pick apart when the question you actually have is "I just pulled this character, what do I press?"

While I personally enjoy digging a bit deeper, my wife does not. But she does love levelling new characters and doing all the bosses to gather mats and things like lower levels of Spiral Abyss and Imaginarium Theater. To do that content you don't need to do sweaty pro combos or have your characters uber maxxed with best gear ever. You just need a general idea of what buttons to push in what order. So I started writing her mini-guides on how to play each of her characters. And soon I had a Notion page full of them. I also like building things (like websites) so I figured I might as well post them in case other people find it useful. Fingers crossed at least 1 person likes the site, then I'll be happy :)

What you GEM tries to provide

  • A one-paragraph summary of what the character does.
  • A simple basic rotation as a short numbered list.
  • The two or three decisions that actually change how the character plays.
  • Simple weapon and artifact guidance.

What you don't get

  • Fully detailed ability information.
  • Damage numbers, multipliers, or breakpoints.
  • Substat weightings.
  • Big weapon and artifact rankings with details.
  • Constellation analysis.
  • Premium team descriptions with full team rotations etc.
  • Anything that only matters in the last floors of Spiral Abyss/Stygian Onslaught.

When you want any of that data, the deep guides are one click away and significantly better than what I could make with more details (KeqingMains being my favourite, but google + youtube has loads more!).

How complete is it?

The goal is every character in the game. Characters without a written guide yet still appear on the character list, greyed out, so you can see what is missing rather than wondering whether you looked in the wrong place.
